Brightness (lumens) calculator
Estimate how many lumens you need for a facade, object or room — from the projected area, the ambient light on the surface and the contrast you want.
The formula
Required lumens ≈ area × ambient lux × (contrast − 1) × surface factor ÷ efficiency. It compares the light the projector adds with the ambient light already on the surface. The full reasoning, with worked examples, is in How many lumens do you need?
Turning off a single streetlight can reduce the lumens you need dramatically — measure ambient light on site at show time.
