Breathing Bike

by Matt Hope

🏆 Honorary Mention · Prix Ars Electronica 2013

In 2013, the Prix Ars Electronica jury recognised “Breathing Bike” by Matt Hope (Hybrid Art) with a Honorary Mention.

_The Breathing Bike_ is a prototype air-cleaning bicycle made in reaction to Beijing’s ongoing air quality dilemma. The bike is composed of a mixture of domestic and industrial detritus found in the artist’s studio, assembled onto the frame of China’s cheapest supermarket bicycle, “The Apollo”.
