Bret Battey's “On the Presence of Water” was honoured with a Honorary Mention at the Prix Ars Electronica 1998, category Digital Musics & Sound Art.
On the Presence of Water is a sound and image meditation on water as a psychological and spiritual archetype. It was not my intent with this work to explore the sound and image of water as such, indeed no sounds and only a portion of the images in the piece originate with water.
