Programming Patterns (NEON Award)

by Julie Dítětová

Signal Festival 2022 featured “Programming Patterns (NEON Award)”, a digital art by Julie Dítětová in Prague.

The Programming Patterns project is an experiment that uses the StyleGAN 2 neural network to generate visual data whose morphology is based on real motifs of 18th century church fabrics. The principle of pattern generation is to first create a curated dataset from the original motifs present on the fabrics.
