www.vis-unnecessaryforce.org's “Vis. [un]necessary force_3” was honoured with a Honorary Mention at the Prix Ars Electronica 2020, category Digital Communities.
Vis. [un]necessary force_3 or under its acronym V.[u]nf_3, addresses one of the most alarming issues in Mexico: the abduction of young individuals, mostly male, ages 18 to 30, often with the complicity of police/military forces. In 2019 numbers escalated to +60,000 forced-disappearance registered cases.

V.[u]nf_3 started off as Luz Maria Sanchez's research-creation project developed at Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana, and was supported with a grant from the National System of Art Creators.
